Our Mission: To help young athletes maximize their potential on and off the court.

Our Vision: To use basketball to create an environment that inspires young people to dream of a better tomorrow and pursue it.

Inspire Hoops is a non-profit organization in the Dallas-Fort Worth area that has one goal; to help young people believe and realize their potential. Everyday there are young people who lose hope in the possibilities that await them. Due to lack of support, failures in the classroom, or frustrating obstacles, these young people stop believing in the possibility of a successful future for themselves. Our heart is to be a direct response by using basketball to create an environment that inspires young people to dream of a better tomorrow and pursue it.

Marques Dunham
Founder and Executive Director
Email: marques@inspirehoops.org

Coach Marques’ desire to see young people reach their full potential comes from a personal place in his life. As a young man, he had trouble believing in a possible future for himself. While he was a successful competitor on the court as a basketball player, that success never converted to his life off the court. It wasn’t until key mentors came along and pointed out strengths and abilities in his life that he really began to see a difference in his personal life. After graduating college, he spent his time investing into young people living in his community, giving back what he had received years prior. During this time he impacted the lives of young people as the Assistant Director of a youth summer camp in Dallas, TX that saw over 5,000 young people each summer. He served as the Youth Coordinator for a church in Beaumont, TX where he led a team of adults that mentored young people on a weekly basis. He started a faith-based community 3-on-3 basketball tournament that focused on inspiring young athletes to use their talents to make a difference. He also coached AAU basketball for 3 years and has been a skills trainer for the past 7 years. This is where he saw the impact basketball had in helping a young person develop confidence that translates beyond the court. Coach Marques has been married for 4 years to his beautiful wife Melinda, who have 2 amazing children, Naomi (3), and Mya (1). They are heavily involved in their church and community.
